Our Beginning
Philip Baublit opened Baublits Jewelers at 203 Earl Garret St. in 1970. He offered expert wrist and pocket watch repair and jewelry repair, as well as being a retail store. In 1971, Dayton Baublit moved his young family to Kerrville and began learning watch and jewelry repair from his Dad. In 1977 Dayton and his wife LaVerne bought the business from his Dad, who began enjoying his second retirement. In 1997, Baublit's Jewelers moved to its present day location at 719 Water St. alongside the historic Arcadia Theater. Philip Baublit's great-grandsons have now joined the family business. Baublit's Jewelers still offers fine jewelry and watches for sale and expert jewelry and watch repairs, custom jewelry creations and, of course, $8 watch battery service and free jewelry checks and cleans.
